We've been busy!

So we have been constantly trying to update our house for the past 2 years and erase every part of country that the previous owners had left. They were also terrible painters and every night when I laid in bed I would look up and see the terrible trim job they did. Since Adam is now done with his MBA we have started to tackle those projects that have been piling up and the most recent one was to paint the master bedroom and replace the trim. Needless to say pre-baby we could get it knocked out in a weekend. Post-baby it took 2 weekends to paint and 2 weekends for Adam to replace all of the trim. It sucked that it took us a month in all, but I just love the finished product. It's hard to tell the difference in the paint color from the before and after pictures, but believe me, it really looks a ton better. Put that with the new white trim, the new blinds, ceiling fan and bedding we we have a very calming retreat! I must also admit my sewing skills are getting much better as I made the cat blanked on the bottom of the bed and this past weekend I made the valences since we couldn't find any to match. I did have some help from Grandma, who just left. It was SO nice having her here and it sucks to have to send her home. I get to see her in 2 weeks thought as we are all flying to Chicago to meet my half-sister's new baby who was born at 32 weeks. The baby is doing fine and has been sent home. Little Arianna weighed 3 lbs 10 ounces when she was born and has now gained a whole pound! My dad claims that Arianna is the size of Jake's left leg. I'm excited to meet her but already stressing about flying with Jake. I know people do it all the time, but I haven't and it worries me that I'm going to be that lady with the screaming baby that everybody hates on the plane. I'll keep you posted! Here are some recent pictures of Grandma's visit and some June and July pics of Jake!

What great pictures, Cass! Jake is such a big boy, and so smiley!! Looks like you had a great visit with your Grandma. Nice work with the guest room - we just touched ours up, too!
