Road trip for Jake and Mommy!
Adam had to go to California to work so I packed Jake up and we drove to North Carolina to visit my best friend Mindy! I did it!! I was so worried about making the 6 hour drive with a baby by myself but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. I had to stop 2-3 times coming and going and it took me about 7 hours but Jake was a trooper and we had a blast. Jake had some built in playmates for a few days with Nate (almost 4) and Rachel (we celebrated her 1st birthday while we were there). Here are about half the pictures from our trip. Jake and I also came home with a souvenir from the trip, we both have lovely colds. I wrote it down in the baby book, this is his first cold. Not the most fun milestone, but the kid was going to get sick sooner or later.
Speaking of fun milestones--while we were in NC, Jake said Da da. It is so hard to believe he's going to be 9 months old next week. Where oh where has it gone?
Sorry I never posted trick or treat pictures, here they are. We had a wonderful time at our friend's house. They actually have trick or treaters in their neighborhood so we went over there. The weather was very crappy but I was determined to take Jake out! I did feel a tad guilty taking candy since there was no way Jake was ever going to eat it. I also felt a little more guilty for eating my kid's Halloween candy--he didn't seem to notice this year, so I think we're off the hook!
