Living the soggy life now. . .

So I ended my last post with "I feel like I am living the high life now." Well, after terrible storms in the ATL area, our house flooded. No shit. Could we have any more bad luck? Well, actually it was only the kitchen and the dining room, and the furniture wasn't ruined, so we were actually lucky in that sense, but now it is a mess. We woke up with massive puddles in the kitchen, and our rugs were soaked, and after the professional drying people came out, now we have these massive dehumidifier and a ton of fans that are SO loud, and that have to run non-stop for 3 days. Who ever thought you would need shower shoes in the kitchen? Any ideas on how to get out of a lease without paying breakage fees??? I am totally open for suggestions. . . after the car being totaled, the bugs (which probably all drowned last night), and now this? I WANT OUT!

1st Time

So, for the first time in 6 years it is the night before the first day of school and I don't give a shit!
Want to know why??? Because I don't teach anymore!! I had been wondering if I made the right decision, but as I called some teacher friends to wish them luck with the upcoming school year, it hit me. I am SO glad to be trying something else! Now I don't lay in bed at night and worry if I have enough lesson plans! HA! It is a truly wonderful feeling, I never knew that some people could go to bed and night and not worry about everything that was going to happen the next day!

So, my job at Careerbuilder.com rocks, and did you know that last quarter Careerbuilder actually surpassed Monster.com as the largest online recruitment website? It is also nice to work for a company that hasn't been taken over (Springfield City Schools) by a larger 'power' because they can't handle money! I truly feel like I am living the high life!

My new fav girlie toy

So I know I am probably about 15 years behind all the other girls, but my new favorite girl toy is an . . .

Eyelash Curler!

Okay, so those of you that know me. . .I really wasn't into make-up at all in high school, and really not all that girlie in college either, but I just got one like 2 weeks ago. I love it, and I totally love what it does to my eyelashes!! Too bad most girls probably discovered this while they were going through puberty, but no, I wait until I am nearing 30 to figure out this wonderful contraption! Go ahead, have your laughs.

My new favorite Georgia word

Swamp-ass

I learned this word last night while sitting with our friends at an O.A.R. concert, and the girl, who is born and raised Southern Belle looks at me and says "I hate when it is this hot and you get swamp-ass." Now, I have never heard a true Southern Belle speak like that, so stupid me I had to clarify, and yes, it was exactly as I thought. I had swamp-ass too. I have never laughed so hard in my life. These 13 year olds at the concert probably thought we were crazy. Who cares, they probably had swamp-ass too!
